Starr is the creative force and spiritual architect behind Alterations for the Soul, a boutique alterations studio that blends expert craftsmanship with restorative intention. With a background in garment construction, tailoring, and personal transformation work, Starr brings a unique combination of technical precision and soulful insight to every project.

Her journey into this work evolved during a significant period of rebuilding in her life. After experiencing personal transition and a season of instability, Starr returned to a familiar dry-cleaning and alterations environment — a place that once supported her during an earlier chapter. What began as a means of regaining footing became the birthplace of a profound revelation about the relationship between clothing, healing, and the process of restoration.

As she worked, Starr noticed that the majority of true repair happens on the inside of a garment — the part no one sees, but the part that carries the structure, the support, and the history. She realized the same was true for people. Healing, like alterations, requires patience, honesty, technique, and time. It requires turning things inside out, addressing what’s been stretched or torn, and reinforcing what needs strengthening to hold the new shape.
